The Position:
We're looking for a H,S,E & Regulatory Compliance Director.
The pay range we're offering is $75-100 K.
Employees enjoy quarterly paid profit sharing as well as an annual merit based bonus and an automatic contribution 401K program in addition to annual Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) contributions.

The ideal candidate will fit all of the following skills and
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent science or technical discipline.
At least five years' experience in manufacturing of consumer and industrial chemical products in appropriate role.
Proficiency in navigating in and understanding regulatory resources such as the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), including 29 CFR, 40 CFR, 49 CFR, etc.
The ability to understand and apply Risk Analysis.
The ability to conduct meetings and facilitate training.
The ability to stay up-to-date on the rapidly changing regulatory landscape as it applies to the chemical industry.
Preferred:
Some level of experience in chemical exposure sampling and monitoring.
The ability to author an OSHA compliant Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and workplace label.
Some level of experience with international chemical regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION The basic function of the Director of Health, Safety and Regulatory Compliance is to develop, document and maintain a comprehensive Health, Safety, Environmental, Loss Control and Regulatory Compliance Program and provide a safe work environment for employees.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (in no particular order ) Establish and Maintain a comprehensive internal Health, Safety & Environmental Loss Prevention Program that reduces risk to the company and its employees by maintaining a workplace free from recognized hazards.
Act as subject matter expert in the design of safe and environmentally sound products during development phase and advise product development team likewise of practical considerations of hazard communication, labeling, transportation and export considerations.
Ensure product labeling, hazard communications (SDS), and other elements of products comply with international, federal, state and local requirements in the markets in which we conduct business including OSHA, CPSC, PROP65, WHIMIS, CCCR etc.
Ensure transportation of products/shipments comply with international, federal, state and local requirements including IATA, IMO, DOT, MDOT, etc.
Act as subject matter expert and provide training and oversight of same.
Ensure products comply with international, federal, state and local chemical inventory and import/export requirements in the markets in which we conduct business GHS, TSCA, REACH, etc.
Act as liaison with and reporting to various international, federal, state and local regulatory, governmental and auditing organizations that have jurisdiction governing the company's internal and external operations including EPA, DHS, EGLE etc.
Coordinate with supply chain and end use customers for various international regulatory requirements including 3TG, IOR, COO, RoHS, SVHC, etc.
Act as subject matter expert in in Health, Safety and Environmentally sound marketing communications and associated certification bodies including USDA, FDA etc.
Participate in product Life Cycle Analysis data collection and communication with selected vendor.
Provide for supply chain and end use customer product safe handling support and service.
Schedule, direct and facilitate department meetings.
Maintain, develop, and report on department operating expense budget.
Coordinate and procure department capital expenditures.
Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the President.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (in no particular order) Continually learn more about the product and those application techniques, methods and processes that meet the needs of prospective end-users.
Strive to maintain conversance with the product's physical properties, chemical composition, and manufacturing considerations, difficulties and costs.
Maintain a close working relationship with all company departments and their members.
Demonstrate and promote the concept and advantages of being internally cooperative while externally competitive.
Actively support all Company policies, with special attention to safety, health, personal bias and poor conduct issues.
Participate and fully support the GBI Quality System and any other activities necessary to support the management and effective functioning of the company.
Attend and participate in all Company-wide meetings, lectures and annual social events as practical.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Director of Health, Safety and Regulatory Compliance reports to and is accountable to the President.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS The physical requirements will vary widely depending upon whether each day's activities require this position to be at the Corporate Office and Manufacturing Location or in the Field attending customer meetings, lectures or trade conventions.
When working in the Corporate Office and Manufacturing Location the environment will have temperatures and noise levels controlled.
Some time may be spent in the laboratory, production and warehousing areas where temperatures and sound levels may vary.
All areas of the company will be smoke free.
The normal workday at the corporate Offices is 8:
00AM to 5:
00PM Monday through Friday.
However, the hours may be longer and days extended when participating in meetings, special projects or fieldwork.
This is a key position and may require attending scheduled meetings outside of normal working hours.
Minor Travel may be required.
